Fall is for Dahlias

If you haven’t noticed, dahlias are back and bigger than ever. They’re trending on social media. They’re appearing in of-the-moment wedding bouquets. They’re gracing the cover of hardcover floral-centric books, and everyone from amateur gardeners to seasoned ones love growing them. How lucky are we at Rose Hill Flowers that a) this complex beauty is back and b) that it’s Fall, so we can showcase it in our seasonal designs.

Dahlias can be sweet and playful or moody-looking and intricate. They can add a dash of whimsy to an arrangement or make it more sophisticated. Take our Autumn Festival for instance. This lush design can be a fall centerpiece for your holiday table or simply a statement piece elsewhere in the home. It has the effect of having been brought in from the garden but has a polish and formality too. We think it works both ways because of those fiery orange dahlias, which look so elaborate next to the unpretentious sunflowers and modest roses.

Rich autumn tones in a willow basket. Bittersweet berries woven though tangerine roses, millet, yarrow, mini pumpkins and dahlias.

Stunning arrangement in shades of pink and greens creating both a pastel and bold look at the same time. So lovely!

Berries and Cream

Dahlias have a unique texture and a surprising beauty. Add them to your Fall decorating scheme and enrich the other flowers they find themselves with. Don’t miss an opportunity to work this trendy flower into your home this season, and let us at Rose Hill Flowers help you do it.
