We Love the Favorite Flowers of These Favorite Ladies

In acknowledgment of Women’s History Month, Nashville’s best florist Rose Hill Flowers wanted to focus on several renowned women who have made a difference, and what their favorite flower says about their character. What does your favorite flower reveal about you?

Audrey Hepburn – Lily of the Valley

Audrey Hepburn’s favorite flower was the fragrant, delicate flowering plant known as Lily of the Valley. Symbolizing humility, purity, sweetness, and grace, these traits can also be used to describe this beloved actress. Always graceful and stylish, Audrey Hepburn also spent much of her time doing humanitarian work in other countries.

Lady Bird Johnson – Lavender Bluebell

Thanks to Lady Bird Johnson, most of the highway in the U.S. are lined with wildflowers instead of junkyards. While First Lady, she championed the Highway Beautification Act in part due to her love of wildflowers. She eventually went on to found the National Wildflower Research Center in 1982, which is now named the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. Lady Bird’s favorite flower was the bluebell – which is a delicate bell-shaped flower meaning gratitude and humility.

Michelle Obama – Hydrangeas and Pink Roses

The smart, strong, but stylish Michelle Obama likes roses and hydrangeas as the favorite flowers of her. A lot of the characteristics and significance of these 2 types of flowers are actually mirrored in Michelle’s personality too. For instance, roses represent love and passion hydrangeas, and love symbolizes grace, abundance, and beauty. Both flower varieties are available in an assortment of styles that fit this powerful former first woman to a “T.”

The elegant and classic arrangement of shades of white and green hydrangea, roses, stock and dusty miller would make a great surprise for that someone special!
